Women Galore - Women From The Kitchen

Event Details

A discussion moderated by Dallas Observer food editor, Beth Rankin, featuring a panel of some the city’s top food creatives, including Meaders Moore Ozarow of Empire Baking, Katherine Clapner of Dude, Sweet and Misti Norris of Small Brewpub — who just so happen to be women.

Meaders Moore Ozarow started Empire Baking Company in 1992 with her husband Robert. Meaders, an Abilene native has always loved food. “We were into food as a family,” says Meaders. She describes her mother as a “health-food nut” in the ’60s and she remembers her father’s fascination with Julia Child and her cooking shows.

Chef Katherine Clapner is the visionary behind the Dude, Sweet Chocolate concept, as well as co-founder, co-owner, and Chef of the company itself. Having over twenty years of experience as a pastry chef, Katherine is a force to be reckoned with in the kitchen.

Misti Norris opened Small Brewpub in December of 2014, after working with Anthony Bombaci for four years at Nana, and Matt McCallister at FT33, where, as sous-chef, she was responsible for charcuterie. Misti and the team behind Small Brewpub were recently announced as a nominee for Bon Appetit’s Top New Restaurants in America.
