Join us for a discussion with the badass women from Toxic Shock in celebration of the launch of the annual publication, Holding Pattern.
Frances Bagley, Julie Cohn, Debora Hunter will reflect on their time creating work together as Toxic Shock. From 1980 to 1986, the women of Toxic Shock worked collaboratively to produce a body of work that addressed the complex issues of politics, power, gender, and identity.
Holding Pattern is an annual publication produced by DADE, a newly founded collective of women and femme artists dedicated to providing a platform for those underrepresented by mainstream art spaces. Printed in a limited edition of 50, proceeds are donated in order to support safe spaces for women.
This project has been made possible by generous funding from Southern Methodist University’s Art Department. The first edition of Holding Pattern will be available June 2017.
