For our next book club, we’ll be reading Searches: Selfhood in the Digital Age by Vauhini Vara, author of The Immortal King Rao. In this genre-defying collection of essays, Vara blends memoir, reporting, and speculative thought to explore how technology shapes our sense of self. From grief processed through AI to questions of belonging, memory, and language, Searches offers a profoundly personal yet intellectually expansive meditation on identity in a digital world.
