Hay Festival Dallas: Friday’s Opening Night at Bishop Arts
Friday opens the Hay Festival Dallas with a compelling array of cultural, literary, and thought-provoking events throughout the Bishop Arts District. At 7 PM at The Wild Detectives, Pulitzer Prize-winning author Viet Thanh Nguyen kicks off the festival with a riveting conversation on themes of identity, war, and the immigrant experience, drawn from his works The Sympathizer and The Refugees. It’s an ideal start for a weekend that celebrates storytelling in all its forms.
At 8:30 PM, head over to the Texas Theatre for a cinematic journey back to 1928 with The Man Who Laughs, accompanied by a live score from “The Historic Orchestra.” Composers Jason M. Reimer and Jesse Chandler will blend music with the film’s haunting visuals in a truly unique performance.
Friday night sets the stage for a weekend of exploration, reflection, and creativity as Hay Festival takes over the vibrant venues of the Bishop Arts District, bringing global perspectives to Dallas.
