Denton resident Paul Slavens is a musician, composer, radio host, voice talent and dance musician.

North Texas was first introduced to Paul through his involvement with the band Ten Hands, a regional and Deep Ellum favorite in the late 1980s.

In 2004 Slavens took over the long running Sunday 7-10 music show, 90.1@Night.  Since then the show has moved to sister station KXT andhas been renamed The Paul Slavens Show.  It has won numerous awards from The Dallas Observer and D Magazine.

Paul is also currently Director of Dance Musicians at UNT in Denton, accompanying Modern and Ballet classes.

In 2021 Slavens will release Alphabet Girls Vol. II on State Fair Records. Until the world changed in 2020, he kept a busy solo performance schedule, either performing his compositions or doing an improvisational song creation show (he has had a residency on Monday nights at venerable Denton club Dan’s Silverleaf for 15 years).
