Welcome back to the Six Foot Love series at The Wild Detectives. A series of live outdoor performances with numbered seats and limited capacity.
A splendid evening of fusion groove weavings from the hands of three superlative Dallas artists.
You’ll be immersed in a flow of rhythmic ideas where jazz, funk, and R&B melt into a contemporary and elegant language, your body will shake while your mind gets lifted.
Brianne Sargent (cellist, bass player, synths/keys, vocals) is the co-leader of Skinny Cooks and plays with Polyphonic Spree, Alejandro Escovedo, Mattie Michelle, and many others. She is also a composer, arranger, and producer. She graduated from Interlochen Arts Academy in 2006, attended Booker T Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts from 2002-2005, and graduated from Baldwin-Wallace Music Conservatory in 2010. She has appeared in multiple articles written by KXT Radio, KERA, the Dallas Observer, and Voyage Dallas and has appeared on PBS for the Austin City Music Hall Of Fame induction in 2022—while sharing the stage with Sheila E—playing cello for Alejandro Escovedo. Her bass playing has made it to the Billboard charts with local rapper phenomenon FloZilla on the Truth to Power Project and her cello playing has made it to Billboard charts on the Todd Dulaney song Revelation 4.
An active educator, bandleader, and sideman for various DFW projects, Wes Case can be found performing in traditional jazz settings, exploring his playful arrangements of classic pop tunes, and original modern jazz projects Wes recorded and released his debut album, E Fado, during a trip back home in 2018. Upon graduation from UNT’s jazz program in 2015, he began performing and traveling throughout Latin America, studying Uruguay’s folk music Candombe in Montevideo, Quechua (an Andean language) while in Peru, as well the rich world of rhythm with Filó Machado(of Djavan) in Brazil.
Robert Trusko is a Philadelphia Native, Dallas-based musician that blends elements of Jazz, R&B, and Hip-hop Music. Trusko has worked as a musical director and a producer helping countless artists expand their musical visions. As a bassist, Trusko has served the musical community as a sideman and a soloist.
