Winter is here, temperatures have (finally) dropped and we’re all loving our wool and wrapping our hands around our hot beverages as we ‘coze’ anywhere warm. Well, maybe we’re exaggerating a bit, Dallas isn’t Fargo. However, it won’t be as ‘chill’ at our music night Saturday, December 17; spoken word artist -topic –one of Dallas’ most promising young artists right now– and New York’s atmospheric indie band Reliant Tom will make sure of that.

With the most recent release of his home-produced and nationally praised Be Good & Do Well LP, the talented up-and-comer continues the effort to carve a dynamic lane for himself on the path towards meriting his own unique audience. -topic paints vivid scenarios of ideas, dreams, and memories over his own original production — all while harnessing a style that touches an array of subjects structured to garner nods from even the most timid first time listeners. He has presented performances alongside todays’ innovators of creative culture, such as Kendrick Lamar, Erykah Badu –who happened to pay $100 for a -topic’s $5 EP–, and Thundercat. With the release of their self titled debut EP, Reliant Tom brings a new feel to a clashing of genres.
