Muses Pt. II

An All-Female Music Showcase

Chasquis presents their second showcase dedicated to female musicians. MUSES is a quarterly music showcase where we present our favorite up and coming local, national, and international female artist.

Vanita Leo

Performing at 9pm

Coming from a rich lineage of Tejano heritage, Vanita Leo’s appetite for ushering in a new wave of Chicano sound was inevitable. Initially using the guise of lush bedroom pop as an introspective outlet of self-discovery & passion, Leo now devotes her talents to exploring the modern intersection of Latino & American music.

Ceci Ceci

Performing at 8pm

Ceci Callejas, better known as Ceci Ceci, is a talented singer-songwriter and guitarist with a Nicaraguan-Ecuadorian background currently based in Dallas, Texas. Her music is a unique blend of genres that reflects her multicultural upbringing and diverse influences, including icons like Julieta Venegas, Jorge Drexler, and Stevie Wonder. With a modern take on son Cubano, reggae and ska, Ceci Ceci’s music is a fresh and dynamic addition to the Latin indie scene. Her lyrics are a personal reflection of her life experiences, including her journey as a migrant, her Nicaraguan hometown, and her cultural identity. As noted in a Dallas Observer article, “Her words will soon touch on her queer identity,” adding another dimension to her already powerful storytelling.

Performing at 7pm

A genre-defying singer-songwriter whose homes include Philadelphia, Tel Aviv, New England, and Mexico City, Natále is an eclectic mix of soul, folk-rock, and Middle Eastern vibes. Inspired by the musical revolutions of the 60s & 70s, Natále’s music is a direct channel to finding solace in inner solitude.
