We’ve joined efforts with Klyde Warren Park to bring you the best books by local authors. Introducing the most Dallasite of all book clubs: the LOCALS ONLY book club! A book club at Klyde Warren Park featuring local favorites handpicked by us, The Wild Detectives.
In September, we will be discussing THE NEON PALM OF MADAME MELANÇON, by Will Clarke.
Pick your copy and join us, and the author, for an open discussion about the book, at The Dallas News Reading and Games Room in Klyde Warren Park.
The Neon Palm of Madame Melançon
For Duke Melancon, New Orleans is not “the city that care forgot.” It’s a gun to the head. Duke’s employer has unleashed an oil spill that is destroying the Gulf. Meanwhile, his mother, the infamous Madame Melancon, has disappeared into the syrupy night. How these two disasters are quantumly entangled, only time will tell.
Will Clarke grew up in Shreveport, Louisiana and holds an MFA in creative writing from the University of British Columbia. He is the author of several works of fiction including, Lord Vishnu’s Love Handle: A Spy Novel (sort of) and The Worthy: A Ghost’s Story. He lives in Dallas, Texas with his wife and family.
