Inner Moonlight: Robin Turner & Emma Ramsey

Event Details

We are proud to feature Robin Turner and Emma Ramsey for the February installment of Inner Moonlight! Brief open mic to follow, so bring a poem to share.

Robin Turner is a poet, teaching artist, and online writing guide for homeschooled teens. Her poems have been tucked inside little poetry houses in Pittsburgh, paired with photographs in a Deep Ellum art gallery, and transformed into tiny artist books for Lisa Huffaker’s magical White Rock Zine Machine. A Best of the Net and Pushcart Prize nominee, Robin’s work has most recently appeared in DeLuge Journal, Virga Magazine, Unlost, Glass Poets Resist, and Sweet Tree Review. Her 2016 chapbook, bindweed & crow poison, is featured at The Wardrobe’s Best Dressed (a Sundress Publications series) and is available through Porkbelly Press.

Emma Pearl Ramsey now calls Fort Worth home, but she grew up in the piney woods of East Texas, rambling about on her family’s small farm, baking bread, growing a garden, making music with her siblings, and, always, writing poems. Emma holds an MFA in Poetry from North Carolina State University and a BFA in Creative Writing from Stephen F. Austin State University. Her poems have been published in Blue Route, she was a finalist in NC State’s poetry contest in 2017 and 2018, and she is currently at work on her first collection of poems, tentatively titled Psalms.

Inner Moonlight is the second Wednesday of every month. Mark your calendar and we’ll see you there!

“Follow your inner moonlight, don’t hide the madness.”
