Let’s celebrate La Fête de la Musique!

On the 21st of June, We’ll not only celebrate the First day of Summer, but also the official Fête de la Musique!

On this occasion, the Alliance Française and The Wild Detectives will team up once again to organize the best Fête de la Musique in Texas!

On the Programme: No less than 3 Hours of Live Music!

We have very special guests for the occasion:

Poppy Xander, Proud Student of the Alliance Française, Dallas based pianist, composer, and singer known for high energy performances and a wide range of playing styles including classical, rock, country, and avant garde improvisation will showcase her great talents to bring you the most beautiful evening of music!

Catherine Swindle, another student of the Alliance Française, and Soprano singer, known for her rich and colorful tone, praised by Opera News as as “marvel”! Catherine has spent the 2020-2022 seasons as an Artist in Residence with Opera Colorado in Denver Colorado, and was recently a Studio Artist with Sarasota Opera in Sarasota, Florida. She was most recently seen on the stage of the Ellie Caulkins Opera House as “Frasquita” and “Micaëla” in Bizet’s Carmen. After returning to Texas in 2023, she is currently on contract with the Dallas Opera Chorus.

Afro Perrero: DJ Elkin Pautt and El Nick will also be part of the party!

How do we celebrate la Fête de la Musique in France?

Since 1982, the French celebrate both Music and the first Day of Summer on every 21st of June, allowing and encouraging all musicians and bands to play outside: in their neighborhoods, in public spaces, on the streets of every city, town or village… where spectators can enjoy and listen to live performances for free!
