NYC Author, Filmmaker, Curator Brandon Harris will present a screening of Spike Lee’s seminal 1989 film Do The Right Thing at The Texas Theatre and will be on hand to discuss both the film and his new book Making Rent in Bed-Stuy.

Brandon Harris’s first book, Making Rent in Bed-Stuy: A Memoir of Trying to Make it in New York City, called “a wide raging meditation on race, bohemia, poverty and film history and a rebuke, in a form newly discovered, to the people James Baldwin once called ‘our morally dishonest and desperately dishonest countrymen,” by N+1 founder Keith Gessen, was recently released by Amistad Books.

We’ll be selling his books in the lobby.

Brandon is currently on tour with the book and a curated traveling film series that premiered at The Metrograph in New York.
