Una colección de 6 cuentos, fantásticas e sutilmente aterradoras, estas historias se inspiran en el realismo mágico, la ficción psicológica y el lado oscuro de los cuentos de hadas heredados de predecesores literarios como los hermanos Grimm y Jorge Luis Borges.
We hope you consider joining us in our discussions of Good and Evil and Other Stories by Samata Schweblin, translated to English by Megan McDowell, following our format of 2 short stories a month from February to April.
A collection of 6 stories, fantastical and subtly terrifying, these stories draw on magical realism, psychological fiction, and the dark side of fairy tales inherited from literary predecessors like the Brothers Grimm and Jorge Luis Borges.

Why did you start a bilingual book club?
To create a welcoming space for people who share our love for literature and the Spanish language at our favorite book store!
How long have you been meeting?
This book club was formed in August 2021!
When do you meet?
We meet every second Thursday at TWD at 7PM.
What are you reading?
We are currently reading Doce Cuentos Peregrinos de Gabriel García Márquez and the translation Strange Pilgrims translated by Edith Grossman.
What kinds of books do you discuss?
We mostly read fictional short stories by Latin American and Spanish authors. We discuss 2 short stories a month.
Do I have to be fluent in Spanish to join?
No. All language levels are welcome to join. You can choose to read the original text in Spanish, the English translation, or both. The conversation tends to flow in both languages.
