In collaboration with Rubber Gloves Rehearsal Studios, we are stoked to host a pre-festival/warm-up concert for the very special and first-of-its-kind Molten Plains Fest.
During this exceptional and intimate night, you will have the opportunity to listen to Luke Stewart (Washington/NYC) for the first time in North Texas. Stewart is a super active bass player in many jazz and fire music scenes. He is part of Irreversible Entanglements, the intense quintet that revolves around Moor Mother’s vital and militant spoken word. This will also be Stewart’s first time collaborating in a powerful duo with our own Oak Cliff native Aaron Gonzalez.
Henna Chou is a sound explorer with experiences living in Tucson, AZ; Overland Park, KS; Berkeley, CA; Ames, IA; Beijing, China; and Montpelier, VT. She is currently based in Austin, where she is an active artist in a wide scope of musical endeavors. We believe Sarah Ruth needs no introduction at this point, a recurrent performer at The Wild Detectives, as part of Sounds Modern ‘Cobra’, along with Damon Smith and Ra Kalam Moses, with Bitches Sets Traps, or as a friend in Thor & Friends.
Bill Nace was supposed to play this concert, but due to health issues, he needed to cancel his Texas tour.
Molten Plains Fest is a two-day festival fostering the spirit of adventurous music and further sounds. 22 artists from 14 cities, a convergence of inestimable musical nourishment from a wide scope of what may be considered experimental, electronic, jazz, or contemporary composition. It will take place in Denton on December 9 & 10.
