The Sangeet Millennium Ensemble takes you on a sonic tour-de-force, as we journey together through Hindustani classical music from the maharajas’ and nawabs’ courts, joining ecstatic devotees wandering through Sufi and bhakti shrines, entertaining patrons in the salons of singing women, and eventually arriving at the screens of Bollywood. The soundscape presented includes creative interpretations of shared social and environmental concerns. The musicians include: Amie Maciszewski on sitar, Amit Kelkar on vocals and harmonium, Paarth Kuntawala on tabla, and Roshan Parajuli on bansuri (bamboo flute)”.
