Join us on June 11th at 5 p.m. at our favorite book bar, The Wild Detectives for a LIVE podcast to launch season 2 of 2 P’s in a Pod.
This season 2 P’s in a Pod and de facto book club will be reading the book, Halfway Home by Reuben Jonathan Miller as a vehicle to not only share the story of one of our de facto teammates and his experience growing up in the Bottom district of Oak Cliff. He is currently serving a life sentence in a Texas prison for a murder he did not commit.
Let’s talk about what fuels the prison industrial complex, and what we are to do when folks come home to a place that does not accept them. A place where they cannot get shelter, food, education, jobs, or even vote in the community they reside.
This live podcast event will feature wellness and community organization vendors, DJ Jaz Molina, taco plates by Samson, and conversations with some of our favorite organization leaders.
