Buy a copy of the book and a CD and enjoy a complimentary Redbird Negroni: gin, vermouth, Campari, and a splash of Louisiana Sin coffee liqueur.
About the book
The Pentecostal Home for Flying Children: Lost Stories, Stray Poems & Questionable Essays brings together thirty years of Clarke’s fiction, poetry, journalism, and personal writing. The title story takes us to Shreveport, Louisiana, in 1984, where a second-rate superhero has disappeared, leaving behind children who can fly. Elsewhere, the collection moves through memories, an unfinished novel set in 1980s Dallas, and a novella disguised as a self-help guide, bringing everyday life into contact with the strange and absurd.
About the author
Will Clarke is a Dallas-based novelist whose books include Lord Vishnu’s Love Handles: A Spy Novel (sort of), The Worthy: A Ghost’s Story, and The Neon Palm of Madame Melancon. He holds an MFA in creative writing from the University of British Columbia and lives in Dallas with his family.
