Have you thought about using
Have you thought about using your skills to make an impact here in Dallas or elsewhere in the country and/or the world!?
Do you like to travel, meet new people and experience new cultures, or learn something new about your own community? If so, come join us at the Peace Corps Story Night as members of the Peace Corps talk about their experiences living in new communities and/or serving in their own communities in new and unique ways. Returned Peace Corps Volunteers will be coming together to share their stories of service, travel, and adventure. Peace Corps Volunteers live for 2 years in countries around the world; from yurts in Mongolia to huts in Zambia. During these 2 years Volunteers try exotic foods, learn to speak new languages, and integrate into and serve communities in need.
The event will take place on the back patio of the Wild Detectives. We ask people to arrive around 6pm to find the perfect seat and enjoy a cup of coffee. We will start stories promptly at 6:30pm. Every story teller will have 5-7 minutes to thrill the audience with their tales of adventure and service.
This storytelling event is part of the Peace Corp Week celebrations and commemorates President Kennedy’s establishment of the Peace Corps on March 1, 1961. The event is free and open to the public, so bring a friend/family member and celebrate with us all the ways that Peace Corps makes a difference at home and abroad and renews its commitment to service.
On Thursday, March 2nd, join us at Wild Detectives for an evening of storytelling, story sharing and socializing.
