Celebrate National Letter Writing Month
Celebrate National Letter Writing Month by attending to Address Me: Everything Needed to Send a Piece of You. Amy Walton returns to The Wild Detectives to run this lovely workshop that was an absolute delight last year.
We’ll provide dozens of stationery and postcard options, stamps, pens, working typewriters, and tips on the art of letter writing. All you’ll need is the address of a loved one.
For inspiration, there will be a small exhibit of vintage letters, including correspondences of significance to the art and culture of the City, curated by the Dallas Public Library.
Attendance is free. Donations welcome.
Why Letter writing shouldn’t be a dying art. Expressive writing has been linked to stress reduction and an overall sense of well-being. Virginia Woolf called it “the humane art, which owes its origins to the love of friends” and Emily Dickinson likened it to immortality.
Letter Writing Isn’t Dead Yet!
